A little bit of background…

So, out of the blue, I figure I should start a blog. Anyone who knows me is probably thinking…”Here we go again, something else she will start and not finish.”, but i intend to keep this one going. That is, if the site does not drive me crazy figuring it out. Blog what, you might ask? If you know me, its not to hard to find out.

For 6 years I have trained and competed with dogs in International Flyball Racing, a dog sport created more than two centuries ago pitting teams of four dogs against each other in relay-racing fashion. The dogs race over four hurdles, hit and bank off a flyball box, catch the ball that flys out, and race back. The jumps range anywhere from 6 to 14 inches high, but this does not stop the dogs. Many dogs can finish the 102 foot course in seconds, mine can do it in 4.12 seconds. The fastest dog is Blur, a border collie that did it in 3.6 seconds, and the record for all four dogs is an incredible 15.220 seconds.

So, in order to further my training and mark my progress, I will add entries for excersizes with Jet, my  border collie seen at the top of this page. Over time I will work on building his drive, speed, consistancy, endurance, and of course, attitude, during, away from, and for the sport.
